The book Dreaming Awake was published at the time of the exhibition of the same name which occupied the Marres, House for Contemporary Art building in Maastricht, Holland, between March and June 2018. The publication includes images of the works of the artists Luiz Zerbini and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, photographs by the curator Luiza Mello taken during the research for the show, and photographs of the exhibition in postcard format. Among the selected texts are an essay by the social scientist and philosopher Bruno Latour and two interviews: between the historian and art critic Jean-Christophe Royoux and the anthropologist Eduardo Viveiros de Castro; and between the anthropologist Eduardo Kohn and the artist Daniel Steegmann Mangrané. The publication presents texts in three languages: English, French and Portuguese. The project was developed by the Brazilian curator Luiza Mello and the director of Marres, Valentijn Byvanck, in collaboration with the graphic designer João Doria and the artists Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané and Luiz Zerbini.
