Breathing: Invisible
05/24/2009
— 07/25/2009
Fundação Eva Klabin, Rio de Janeiro, RJ
This time with the work of João Modé, Automatica produced an exhibition for Projeto Respiração [Breathing Project]
. Conceived by curator Marcio Doctors, the idea of establishing a connection between the classic collection of the Fundação Eva Klabin and contemporary art became, over the years, one of the major initiatives in the area of Brazilian visual arts.
For this edition, João Modé offers with Invisíveis [Invisibles], small and subtle transformations in the pieces making up the collection of the house, presenting an esthetic viewing into the memory of its famous inhabitant. In the sounds and smells of the past, in the memory of the experience of other times and in recording the passage of time, Modé created an atmosphere both affectionate and challenging to the sensitivity of each visitor.
