Centro Cultural TCU
Brasília, DF
The exhibition Línguas africanas que fazem o Brasil, curated by Tiganá Santana, investigates the presence of African languages and cultures in the shaping of Brazilian Portuguese language in the country. Sound installations, Adinkra symbols, audiovisual productions, and works by Brazilian artists reveal the Afro-diasporic heritage in oral tradition, writing, and the arts. In this edition, the exhibition also highlights works from Brasília’s artists, with pieces by Antonio Obá, Leni Vasconcellos, and Dalton Paula. Organized by the TCU Cultural Center, in partnership with the Museum of the Portuguese Language, and produced by Automatica.
