Floor Rhythm Flow
08/12/2023 — 10/14/2023
Galpão Bela Maré, Rio de Janeiro, RJ
The exhibition emerged out of the training residency of 15 artists participating in the Free Art School [ELÃ]. Throughout the program, three key-concepts — Floor, Rhythm, Flow
—
shaped the artists’ creative process. Drawing inspiration from dance-floors and ballrooms, the artists explored the aesthetic and political power of these spaces. Each participant developed their own artistic interpretation of movement, direction, street life, traffic, dance, tempo, choreography, the collective, the crowd, and the celebration of bodies and encounters, all of which took concrete shape in the exhibition.
