Volume 1 – the first of the livro-revista [book-zine] editions by artist Raul Mourão. In 14 chapters, Mourão presents a heterogeneous set of works and features other artists and thinkers such as Frederico Coelho, Francisco Bosco, Daniel Perlin, Karla Monteiro, BNegão, Bernardo Mortimer, Luiz Camillo Osorio, David Pacheco, Felipe Scovino, Daniela Labra, Luisa Duarte, Daniel Senise, Michael Asbury, Agnaldo Farias, Jacopo Crivelli Visconti, Cabelo, Silvio Essinger, Vik Muniz, Mauricio Valladares, Joshua Callaghan and Audrey Furlaneto. A sort of repository of the artist's ideas, works and exhibitions over the last ten years, “Volume 1” brings together sculptures, drawings, paintings, projects, photos, video frames and electronic models, as well as critical texts and interviews. Volume 1 – an artist's book that reveals the multiplicity of Raul Mourão's work through his connections with life, his work process, his daily life, his partnerships and his reflections on the distance between the art object and the public.

Automatica has been developing cultural projects since 2005, working in the creation, production, curation, management, coordination and consultancy of exhibitions, educational programs, publications and other activities related to artistic production. It works with artists, curators, art critics, art historians, cultural institutions, public and private sponsors.
