Public Sector Artistic Residency 2023
February/2023  — December/2023
Fundação João Goulart, Rio de Janeiro, RJ

RASP is a residency that involves artists immersing themselves in Brazilian public institutions to build processes and/or objects in collaboration with the employees of these institutions. For the first time at RASP, artist Eleonora Fabião presents a work proposal that brings together civil servants from different public institutions in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Through the T R A M A [W E A V E] project, Eleonora Fabião sought to continue an ongoing reflection on public service, considering the constant changes, demands and challenges faced in a city like Rio de Janeiro. The objective was to jointly imagine a series of proposals for and with the city, in dialogue with civil servants and the hosts who hosted the project in different cultural centers in the city. To develop these proposals, the T R A M A [W E A V E] meetings were attended by 4 groups of civil servants divided into 8 meetings. Each group participated in at least two meetings to discuss “public service, public affairs, the city of Rio de Janeiro, the common good,” in the artist’s words.
